Perceptions won me overWhen I first started looking at building my new home, Perceptions were not on my list, but after meeting Taria and Warren, Building and Design Consultants with Perceptions I am happy to say, they won me over!I am one of those clients that knew what I wanted in a floor plan and could see it in my head, something two storey, designed around my lifestyle, but needed someone to bring the vision to life. Nothing was too much trouble for Taria and Warren who took on the challenge offering expert design advice and constant support making what could have been a daunting process a really enjoyable one. In my opinion, they are an absolute asset to the company.Pre-construction entailed a one on one consult for electrical fit out with Clipsal and tile and colour selections with interior designers from Eskay Design. The online customer portal is helpful, progress updates are regularly added onto the portal for you to review documents, make pre-start selections, view a 3D image of your build and check on progress. Thanks to Jenna my contract administrator at head office for addressing my queries, talking me through processes and replying to emails so quickly, I don’t know how she keeps up!I am just commencing the construction phase, slab has been poured so quite a bit ahead of me still but happy to provide updates over the next few months.

After reading up on countless reviews and talking to friends who had built in recent years, we had finally decided to go with Perceptions as a friend recommended them. We're about to have our slab down and so far, our experience with Perceptions have been wonderful.We have Fiona Monteleone as our building and design consultant and Claire Donelly as our contract administrator and both of these ladies have been awesome to work with. Fiona has been amazing in helping us design our house plans from scratch - accommodating all of our ideas while staying within budget and regardless of how many times I've changed things around or added features, Fiona was always happy to accommodate me and/or give sound advice.Claire, our contract administrator has also been wonderful in helping us get to this point - especially with prestart! I've had countless questions and inquiries about heaps of items and Claire was always happy to help and she'd get back to me promptly with answers and feedback. Regardless of how many times I've changed my mind on things, subtract or add new items, Claire was always happy to help us amend our addenda. During one of our meetings when I was alone there with my two kids, she'd even help me cuddle my sleepy whining toddler just so I can take my time with going through the documents at hand! Simply put - communication and assistance from her has been excellent.On top of the wonderful assistance from these two ladies, I must add that Perceptions has also been very patience in dealing with us - especially when it took quite a while to sort out our finances in order to move forward with our build. Never once did they push us to hurry things up and our situation was always met with understanding and patience. Overall, with our pre-construction experience - we are very happy.

The Perceptions sales rep was very helpful and assisted with making recommendations to the design of the house which we are extremely happy with. Considering some of the aspects of our house we built are unique, the build and end product meet our expectations and on projected time. Barry our site manager was helpful and contactable and I couldn't fault the aftercare service too.

Perceptions built our Two Story Investment and we have nothing but positive feedback on the process from initial consultation through to build completion. The house looks fantastic and we have had no issues with Perceptions attending to minor issues since the 6month build completion has passed. The support staff and construction manager kept us well informed and the attention to detail of the trades was fantastic.

We got our house! Great feeling!Perception gave us the house design we really like. It is functional with an ecstatic frontage and it maximises the space of the narrow lot. We have done much entertainment in this house and the outcome is always satisfying. The finishing of the house is very good and the extra help given by the builder's interior designer was fabulous. We feel very comfortable with the colour scheme suggested for us. It took a little long for the paperwork and the building of the house but we are aware that building 2 units on a narrow lot is quite a challenge.

Perceptions were very accommodating with us during the design phase allowing us to design our one off house. The build was completed in a timely fashion and the supervisor was always available and attentive to our inquiries. The quality was very good and handover was seamless. After build maintenance issues have been minimal. I would recommend perceptions as a cost effective option for two story home building and would use them again if the opportunity arises.

This is our first time building a home but the third builder we are dealing with. Our experience with Perception home has been great so far. They have been very competitive on the offer and inclusion compared to leading Perth builders. What I appreciate the most is the personalised service Fiona gave us as a sales consultant she was focussed on our satisfaction with the design. She listened carefully to our brief and delivered the right design in a very short time. The team at Perception during the pre-start have also been vey accommodating and friendly. Claire has gone over the entire selection twice and ensured I was satisfied with it. There was a lot of changes and she patiently worked trough them with me. I can't wait to start building now and see the final product.

This was the second time we built our house. We were lucky that we met Keith of Perceptions and chose Perceptions to built out two storey home. He was very helpful and patient in giving advice, showing us around, visiting us, making modifications to the plan, and in dealing with the council. He also referred some contractors who gave us heavily discounted prices for jobs that were not part of the building contract. The after sales team's service is also great. They are easy to approach. The defects and maintenance jobs were attended promptly. We are very happy with our new home and Perception's service. Next time I build another house, I won't bother to shop around; I would just make a phone call to Perceptions to get things going.

Perceptions build high quality and well priced homes. We built 2 double storey houses and were happy with the end product. Other positives were, the great help with interior/exterior design and the building supervisor Steve who came in at the end (the previous supervisor left the company) and has been committed to finishing off the house and keeping us happy.However, had many poor customer service experiences. Firstly, we did not meet our building supervisor until 2 months prior to completion. Secondly, we had 3 different customer liaisons (due to staff turnover) and the last one interacted in a very adversarial way. This really tainted our experience. The build was also lengthy. 17 months in total.Overall I would recommend perceptions if you can ensure that building supervisor and customer liaison person are friendly, communicative and committed. I would suggest meeting them and talking to a current or past customer who they helped. The people that look after your build make such a big difference to the pleasurability of the experience, and presumably the length of the build.

We chose to build with Perceptions because they had the perfect house design for us. It has the best shape and size for our block of land, the interior design suits our life style perfectly and we still got a decent backyard space for our dog.Customer service during pre-sale was good. But we did have a few issues throughout the building process as our initial contact left the company – late email replies, lack of information and poor supervision. And to complicate even more, there were still another two changes of personnel throughout the process.As we did not have any previous building experience, we hired a private builder supervisor to monitor the progress of the house and we do recommend the same for other inexperienced buyers.The workmanship and the building quality of the property were overall very satisfying, and our private supervisor had minor issues to follow up with the company. The main complaint I have is the poor finishing around the windows and doors. It was brought up upon completion of the house, but according to Perceptions, the defects were within builder’s quality standards (definitely not within my quality standard).Although we were expecting to have the house ready within 9 months, there were few delays and was finished in 12, but still within their time frame 18 months.The customer service after the handover was very good. They replied to our emails in a timely and helpful manner, and assisted with the majority of problems we had, especially with the appliances warranty (the oven to be more specific).In summary, we were satisfied with the overall result and building process.I would recommend Perceptions to a friend, but advise him/her that some customer service issues may be encountered along the way, and that there may be few disappointments with the finishing quality of the house.
